Ella has had some kind of virus the last 3 days! I got a call from Krystal on Thursday afternoon at work telling me my kiddo had a temperature at preschool, so she was kind enough to bring her home, and I was able to leave work early to take her home. I took her to the doctor because I as afraid she was coming down with the flu, but they did a flu test and it was negative. Thank goodness! She ran a low grade fever all day and night (about 100.5) and all day Friday. I was switching off Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours, but the fever kept returning, plus she didn't want to eat anything and had nasty green snot all day ! So I called the dr again and they called in amoxicilin for me saying she probably had a little infection too. Well, then Sat night her fever went up over 101 and she brokeout in the splotchy rash on her arms, legs, face, and tushy. It was weird! I assumed it was caused by the fever, but we called the after hours doctor and they said it was probably a viral rash. So after a momentary freak out, all was okay until about 10:15 pm when it had been 1 1/2 hours since I had given her motrin and her fever was still not coming down, so we decided to take her to the Urgent Care doctor in Hurst. Daniel said the website said they were open until 11 pm, so when we got there at almost 11 pm, the sign said it closed at 10. UGH!!!!! By then, the motrin must have decided to kick in because her fever was coming down. So we just went home. What a night!!!! She had no fever by the time we got back home and I just checked on her about every 2 hours. She slept until 10 am! Poor thing! She was just worn out! She didn't run a fever again until about 5 am and she remained fever free until about 7 this evening. She is finally starting to get better...I hope! Viruses are no fun at all! It's so scary when she runs a fever like that! I always think it's something worse than it is. Thank goodness for my mom! She always knows what to do. Thanks mom!

Fun times at the zoo!
We went to the zoo last weekend on a whim. It was so beautiful outside that we couldn't let it go to waste. Ella was so much fun to watch. She was making all of the animal sounds and got really excited when she saw the animals move around. She was so good when we went too! I was a little afraid she would be fussy because she is in her "little miss independant" stage and "I wanna do it my way" stage, but she was great. She would get right back into her stroller to go see the next animal. A little ice cream doesn't hurt either!

She really liked the alligator!

Ice cream time!

Looking at the giraffe
She was trying to see the hippo with daddy's help.

This last picture was taken last night. I walked in the living room and this is what I saw. The most precious thing I have seen in a long time. Daniel was sitting in that itty, bitty pink chair coloring with his baby girl. You just can't get any sweeter than that! And....of course she has the hat on. I think the hat will appear in many future pictures to come.
Ice cream time!

Spaghetti.....GOOD!!
I hope you used your best cave man voice as your read the title! Let me tell you....Ella really enjoyed her dinner tonight. I don't think I've ever seen her get this messy during a meal. She even had a noodle in her hair! Cracked me up! She sure does love spaghetti! Crazy kid!

We just went straight to the bath tub!

Tea Anyone?
Ella is very into pretend play right now and she loves to play tea party. It was so much fun that even her daddy decided to play too. It was so cute watching them play together. She has always been a major mommy's girl (she still is), but she is slowly becoming more of a daddy's girl.
She insisted on wearing her hat all evening.

Busy.... but fun weekend!
We had quite a busy weekend, but I like it that way anyway. Friday night I babysat my niece's Hannah and Kaity. It wasn't hard, but I just had all three of them for a few hours. Bless my sister-in-law, Krystal, for watching all three of them everyday. You make it look very easy! Thank you for everything you do for Ella!
We took Ella to the stock yards on Saturday along with my parents, and to say that Ella enjoyed it would be an understatement. She had a blast! I loved watching the expressions on her face every time she saw something new. I used to think (this was before I had Ella) that taking young children to things like that would be the biggest whippin', but now I understand why all of us crazy parents do it! We can't wait to see our child's faces fill up with joy when we see them experience new things. She won't remember it, but I will!
Below Ella is stacking her blocks. It's fun to watch her because she gets mad when they fall over. Poor kid has my temper. She may look like her daddy, but she acts like me. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Only time will tell! :)
